SRI KRISHNA CAITANYA! SRI KRISHNA CAITANYA!
The Magnum Opus titled “Sri Krishna Caitanya” by His Holiness Jayapataka Swami Maharaja!His Holiness Jayapataka Swami is considered and accepted as an authority on Lord Caitanya's pastimes by many spiritual leaders of the Gaudiya line. Moreover, as we all know, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada himself declared that he was one of the associates of Lord Caitanya in the past.
Srila Jayapataka Swami began work on this magnum opus project in the early 80s. He desired to compile a book on Lord Caitanya's pastimes from various original biographies authored by the Acaryas. His desire is to compile a book that is similar to the famous KRISHNA BOOK by Srila Prabhupada, which narrates the pastimes of Lord Krishna (a summary of the Srimad-Bhagavatam’s 10th canto). This long-awaited project got delayed due to Maharaja's extensive travel worldwide for preaching and expanding the Hare Krishna movement, besides his health issues caused by his tireless preaching travels. Despite his health problems, His Holiness resumed this project in 2014 with the conviction that this is one of his important contributions to the Gaudiya Family. For this book, Maharaja desired to have artwork that matches the BBT artwork standards. He wanted to bring all the pastimes of Sriman Mahaprabhu come alive through a collection of colorful paintings beautifully wedged between the pages of other glorious text within the book, so that devotees can meditate more easily on Lord Caitanya's pastimes. This magnum opus of 4 volumes will contain 128 paintings!
As this is an ambitious project, there are great expenses involved. Our main expenses are payments to artists providing artwork and text editors. We have BBT artists who make paintings as per Maharaja's direct guidance. There are also devotees who assisting Maharaja with the verification and editing of Bengali and Sanskrit scripts from the original texts, besides doing other language-related work.
